Emergency Feature: Important Information & Disclaimer

1. Purpose of the Emergency Feature

The ENID Weather emergency screen is designed to display approximate location information and provide convenient access to emergency calling, location sharing, copying, mapping, and configured support-contact options.

The information shown by this feature is intended for personal reference and situational awareness only . It should not be treated as an official dispatch system, rescue beacon, medical device, navigation instrument, or guaranteed emergency-reporting service.

2. No Automatic Emergency Reporting

Opening or using this feature does not automatically contact 911, emergency dispatchers, police, fire departments, emergency medical services, rescue organizations, Plaza Development Group, ENID Weather personnel, family members, or support contacts.

You must manually select a calling or sharing option and complete any confirmation required by your device.

Closing the screen, losing an internet connection, or allowing the device to lock may stop location updates without sending any notification to another person.

3. Emergency Calling Limitations

The call button is intended to open the device’s telephone dialer with an emergency number entered. Depending on the device, operating system, permissions, browser, cellular carrier, account status, or local requirements, the user may still need to press the final call button.

• The website cannot guarantee that a call will connect.
• Cellular service, Wi-Fi calling, account restrictions, device damage, battery level, and network congestion can affect calling.
• Emergency numbers may differ outside the United States.
• Users are responsible for confirming the correct emergency number for their current location.
• Never assume an emergency agency has received your information unless you have directly communicated with the agency or received clear confirmation.

4. Location Accuracy and GPS Signal

Location information may be provided by GPS, nearby Wi-Fi networks, cellular towers, Bluetooth devices, IP-based location estimates, or a combination of available device services.

Location data can be delayed, incomplete, outdated, unavailable, or inaccurate. The displayed location may be offset by a significant distance.

5. Internet and Network Requirements

Some emergency-screen functions may require an active internet connection, mobile-data service, map service, location provider, or access to the ENID Weather server.

• Maps and nearby-address information may not load offline.
• A device may have GPS coordinates while still being unable to load a map or address.
• Sharing through text, email, or another application may require a cellular or internet connection.
• Cached information may be displayed during an outage and may no longer be current.
• Server maintenance or a provider outage may temporarily disable some features.

6. Location Sharing and Privacy

Your location should only be shared when you intentionally select the share option and complete the device’s sharing process.

Review the recipient and information before sending it. Shared location data may be copied, forwarded, stored, or viewed by other people after it leaves your device.

• Do not publicly post precise location information unless you understand the privacy risks.
• Shared map links may continue working after the emergency has ended.
• Clipboard information may be visible to other applications on some devices.
• ENID Weather cannot control how another person or service uses information after you share it.
• Check the website privacy policy for information about server logging and data retention.

7. Device Permissions and Settings

Location access, telephone access, browser permissions, notification permissions, map access, and sharing behavior are controlled by the user’s device and operating system.

Denying a permission may limit functionality. Permission approval does not guarantee the device can obtain an accurate location or complete a call.

• Enable location services when you intend to use the emergency location feature.
• For better accuracy, allow precise location when your device provides that option.
• Confirm the device has sufficient battery power.
• Keep the device operating system and browser updated.
• Test non-emergency support features before relying on them in the field.

8. Screen Brightness Limitation

The ENID Weather Android application may attempt to increase screen brightness while the emergency screen is open, subject to operating-system permissions and device restrictions.

A normal website generally cannot directly control the device’s system brightness. Website users may need to adjust brightness manually through the device settings or quick settings panel.

Increased brightness can use additional battery power and may make the screen more visible to other people. Reduce brightness when appropriate and safe.

9. Maps, Addresses, and Third-Party Services

Maps, geocoding, satellite images, addresses, road names, location estimates, and directions may be supplied by independent third-party providers.

Those providers may contain errors, outdated roads, incorrect property locations, closed routes, missing landmarks, or inaccurate jurisdictional boundaries.

Do not follow a suggested map route when doing so would be unsafe, unlawful, blocked, flooded, restricted, or contrary to instructions from emergency personnel.

10. Weather and Environmental Hazards

Weather data, radar data, forecasts, warnings, camera images, and environmental information may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or different from actual conditions at your location.

Continue monitoring official alerts and instructions from emergency management, the National Weather Service, local officials, law enforcement, fire departments, and other authorized agencies.

Never enter a dangerous area solely because the ENID Weather application or website appears to show safe conditions.

11. Medical and Safety Information

ENID Weather does not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, professional rescue instructions, legal advice, or official emergency-dispatch services.

Follow instructions given by trained emergency personnel. Do not delay calling for professional help while attempting to use this feature.

12. Children and Supervised Users

Children and individuals who require assistance should use this feature under the supervision of a responsible adult whenever possible.

Parents, guardians, employers, organizations, and device administrators are responsible for determining whether the feature is appropriate for their users and devices.

13. Technical Failures

Software and electronic devices can fail. Possible failures include:

• Application crashes or frozen screens.
• Incorrect or missing location information.
• Expired or unavailable map services.
• Server outages.
• Network interruptions.
• Battery depletion.
• Device damage.
• Browser incompatibility.
• Operating-system restrictions.
• Incorrectly configured emergency numbers.
• Failure of third-party providers.

Maintain another method of contacting emergency services. Do not rely on this feature as your only emergency tool.

14. User Responsibility

By using the emergency feature, the user accepts responsibility for:

• Confirming that displayed information appears reasonable.
• Calling the correct emergency service.
• Providing clear and accurate information to responders.
• Following official emergency procedures.
• Maintaining the device, battery, network service, and permissions.
• Reviewing information before copying or sharing it.
• Avoiding unsafe device use while driving or operating equipment.
• Complying with applicable laws and local emergency procedures.

15. Driving and Vehicle Safety

Do not type, study maps, adjust settings, or operate the emergency screen while driving.

Pull over at a safe and lawful location or have a passenger operate the device. Always prioritize roadway conditions, traffic laws, official closures, and instructions from emergency personnel.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Plaza Development Group, ENID Weather, their owners, developers, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and data providers are not responsible for losses, injuries, damages, delays, missed communications, inaccurate locations, unavailable services, user errors, third-party failures, or decisions made based on information displayed by this feature.

The feature is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, accurate, current, complete, or suitable for every emergency.

17. Changes to This Feature

ENID Weather may update, change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue portions of the emergency feature when needed for maintenance, security, legal compliance, provider changes, or product improvement.
